Workplace Policy
We work where the users are.
Vercorro is an on-site company. Our engineers spend their working day at client sites across Belgium — not behind a screen in a remote call centre. This page explains what that means in practice, for the people who work with us and for the clients who host them.

1. Primary workplace policy: on-site
Our work is physical. Laptops have to be unboxed, imaged and handed over. Printers fail on the production floor. A user whose machine will not boot needs someone standing next to them, not a ticket number. For that reason, our engineering roles are on-site roles.
- Engineers are assigned to a client site, or to a group of sites in one region — typically the Brussels-Capital Region, Antwerp, or the Kempen area.
- Working hours are spent at the client's premises, unless the assignment says otherwise.
- Remote work is used for administration, training, reporting and preparation — not as a substitute for being present.
- Some assignments include travel between several sites in a day. We say so before an assignment starts.
2. Hours and availability
- Full-time is 38 hours per week, the standard working week in Belgium.
- Our usual service window is 08:00–18:00, Monday to Friday. The exact schedule depends on the client site's opening hours and is agreed before the assignment starts.
- Where an assignment includes standby, on-call, weekend or night work, it is agreed in advance and compensated under Belgian labour law and the rules of the applicable joint committee.
- Outside working hours, nobody is expected to answer messages or calls unless they are on a scheduled standby shift. Where a formal right-to-disconnect arrangement is legally required, we apply it; below that threshold we apply the same principle anyway.
3. Travel and commuting
Being on-site means moving around, so we do not treat travel as the engineer's private problem.
- Commuting costs are covered according to Belgian rules and the applicable joint committee — in practice, reimbursement of public transport or a mobility arrangement.
- Travel between client sites during the working day is working time, and the cost is borne by Vercorro.
- Where an engineer uses their own vehicle for work travel at our request, kilometres are reimbursed at the official indexed rate.
- Parking and access costs at client sites are reimbursed on presentation of a receipt.
4. Equipment and tools
- Vercorro provides the laptop, mobile phone and subscription, and the hand tools needed for the job.
- Where a client requires their own device, badge or VPN for access to their systems, they supply it and we return it at the end of the assignment.
- Personal devices are not used to access client data.
5. Safety, health and wellbeing
On-site work carries real physical risk: lifting equipment, working in server rooms and technical areas, electrical work, and in some cases industrial or life-sciences environments.
- We work under the Belgian welfare-at-work legislation (the Codex on well-being at work) and are affiliated with an external service for prevention and protection at work.
- Health surveillance is arranged where the role or the environment requires it, at Vercorro's cost.
- Personal protective equipment required for a site is provided before the assignment begins, not after the first incident.
- Any engineer may refuse to carry out a task they reasonably believe to be unsafe, and raise it with us without fear of consequences. We would rather lose an hour than a person.
6. Client site rules
When our engineers work on a client's premises, they follow that client's site rules in addition to ours — security screening and badging, safety inductions, clean-room and gowning procedures, photography and device restrictions, and confidentiality obligations.
Some of our clients operate in healthcare, pharmaceutical and regulated industrial environments where access conditions are stricter than average. Where a site has specific entry requirements, we tell the engineer what they are before the assignment is agreed, so nobody is confronted with a condition they did not sign up to.
7. Respect and equal treatment
Our engineers are guests on someone else's premises every day, and they deserve to be treated as professionals. We select people on skill, reliability and attitude, and on nothing else. Discrimination or harassment — by a colleague or by anyone at a client site — is something we take up with the client, not something we ask our people to absorb.
8. Vaccination policy
Vercorro does not require any vaccination as a condition of employment or assignment.
Vaccination is a personal medical decision, and it stays that way. We do not ask candidates or employees about their vaccination status as part of recruitment or performance management, and we do not keep vaccination records. Health data is sensitive personal data under the GDPR, and we treat it accordingly.
There is one honest exception, and it is not ours. A small number of client environments — hospitals, pharmaceutical production, certain laboratories — impose their own access or health-screening requirements, which may include vaccination or immunity checks carried out by an occupational health service. These are the client's requirements for entry to their site, not Vercorro's conditions of employment.
Where such a requirement exists, we commit to the following:
- We tell the engineer about it before the assignment is agreed, never after.
- Anyone may decline such an assignment, with no effect on their standing, their pay or their access to other work with us.
- Any medical check required for site access is handled by the occupational health service, which reports only fitness for the role — not the underlying medical details — to us or to the client.
In short: we will never ask you to justify a medical choice to us. We will tell you honestly when a particular client site has a rule of its own, and you decide.
9. Pay and location
Vercorro operates in Belgium, and pay is set by role, skills and experience. It is not adjusted according to which part of the country someone lives in or which site they are assigned to. Two engineers doing the same job for us are paid on the same basis.
This page describes how we work. It is not an employment contract and does not replace individual contracts, work rules, collective labour agreements, or the rules of the applicable joint committee, which prevail in case of any difference.
